Malana Vasseur

Malana joined the team at Bellevue Animal Clinic in 2013. She is a Church Point High School graduate, class of 1994.

In November of 2013, Malana’s pet dog, Ty, was hit by a car. She brought her dog in while wearing her work uniform, and Dr. Kevin asked her about her job. Her response was that she really wanted a more rewarding job, but lacked continued education. Dr. Kevin then offered her a position in kennels, and Malana instantly fell in love with veterinary medicine. After hard work and dedication, and a wonderful training staff, Malana was promoted to the reception area. Soon after, she was again promoted to reception manager, then ultimately office manager.

Malana is currently pursuing a certification in Pet Loss Grief Counseling. She believes this is her true calling, to help with end of life care, euthanasia, and the grieving process.

Malana married her high school sweetheart, Brent. They have two daughters, Brooke and Saige, and one son, Brent Jr. They also have four grandchildren, Ryan, Rhett, Riannon, and Benet. They share two family pets, Willow, a pit bull, and Briscoe, a Great Pyrenees mix.

A couple of fun facts about Malana is that she actually once won a parent of the year award, and she loves girls’ trips sleeping in haunted tourist locations!

Marco, Clinic Mascot

Marco was brought to Bellevue Animal Clinic on August 22, 2020 by a Good Samaritan. He had been found on the side of the road with damage to his eye. We took one look at him and knew that we had to help him. The plan was to get the kitten better before doing surgery. Once he recovered from surgery, he was going to be adopted out to a loving home. Well…….by the end of the weekend, everyone had fallen in love with him, and he got the name Marco because Hurricane Marco was hitting that weekend. We staff members begged Dr. Kevin to let him be our clinic cat, and to our surprise he said YES! Marco puts a smile on everyone’s face every single day, and has become the mascot of Bellevue Animal Clinic.

Marco’s family includes his grandmother, Annie the cat. His hobbies include stealing kibbles, napping, and hiding in cabinets. A fun fact about Marco is that he has a different collar for every season.
